Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you buy.

General
What is Wiring Untangled?
+
Wiring Untangled provides fully interactive wiring diagrams for early Porsche 911 and 912 models. Every diagram is hand-redrawn from the original factory schematics, corrected for known errors, and built as an interactive tool you can use in any web browser. Click any wire and the entire circuit lights up end to end.
Which cars do you cover?
+
We currently cover 1965–1969 Porsche 911 and 912 models — seven diagrams total. This includes the 1965-66 911 (5-Gauge), 1965-66 912 (3-Gauge), 1967-68 911 and 912 (with Foglight Relay), 1969 911S/911E, 1969 911T, and 1969 912. We're actively expanding coverage through 1983. Check the Diagrams page for the full current list.
Can I try it before I buy?
+
Yes. We have free demo diagrams for both Basic and Premium — full interactivity, no account needed. Try the Premium demo here or try the Basic demo here.
Are these the same as the factory wiring diagrams?
+
They're based on the original factory diagrams but significantly improved. Every diagram is hand-redrawn in clean vector format, corrected for known factory errors (like the mirror-image fuse panel orientation and incorrect connector references), and built with interactivity so you can click to trace any circuit. They're the factory diagrams done right.
Basic vs. Premium
What's the difference between Basic and Premium?
+
Both levels include full interactive circuit tracing — click any wire or component and the complete circuit highlights end to end. Premium adds ISO-view component graphics, wire color swatches with DIN codes, circuit info panels with pin maps and wire gauges, troubleshooting tables, and wire gauge data on hover. If you're doing a quick diagnosis, Basic works great. If you're deep into a restoration or harness rebuild, Premium is worth it.
Can I upgrade from Basic to Premium?
+
Yes. Just purchase a Premium pass from the Pricing page and you'll have immediate access to Premium diagrams for the duration of your pass.
Pricing & Access
How much does it cost?
+
A Premium Day Pass is $5.99 (one-time, 24 hours). Week Passes are $8.99 for Basic or $10.99 for Premium (one-time, 7 days). Monthly access is $14.99 for Basic or $17.99 for Premium (recurring, cancel anytime). Every pass unlocks the entire diagram library — not just one diagram. See full details on the Pricing page.
Do I get access to all diagrams or just one?
+
Every pass — Day, Week, or Monthly — unlocks the entire library. You can open any diagram for any model we cover, as many times as you want, for the duration of your pass.
Will I be charged again after my Day Pass or Week Pass expires?
+
No. Day Pass and Week Pass are one-time payments. Your card is charged once and never again. Only the Monthly plan is recurring, and you can cancel that anytime from your account page.
How do I cancel my Monthly subscription?
+
Log into your account and click Cancel on your subscription. It takes one click and there's no cancellation fee. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Technical
What devices do the diagrams work on?
+
Any device with a modern web browser — laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all work. The diagrams are designed for larger screens but are usable on phones in a pinch.
Do I need to install any software?
+
No. Everything runs in your browser. There's nothing to download or install.
What's the best way to use these in the garage?
+
The diagrams run in your browser with no extra software needed. For best results, use a stable internet connection. A laptop or tablet in the garage works great.
Can I print the diagrams?
+
No. The diagrams are interactive tools designed to be used in your browser — they are not available as printouts. Open them on a laptop or tablet in the garage and click to trace any circuit in real time.
