About Wiring Untangled

We build interactive wiring diagrams for early Porsche 911 and 912 owners — because you shouldn't need a factory technician's training to trace a circuit in your own car.

Why We Built This

If you've ever tried to trace a circuit on a 1967 911 using the original factory wiring diagram, you know the pain. Color-coded, sure — but printed small enough to fit a service binder, crammed with overlapping lines, and drawn for someone who already knew the car inside and out.

You're squinting at wire colors that are impossible to read, guessing which connector goes where, and hoping you don't short something expensive. One wrong assumption and you've lost an afternoon.

We built Wiring Untangled because we got tired of that. Every early Porsche owner deserves a wiring diagram that actually helps — one you can click, trace, and trust.

"The factory diagrams were state of the art in 1965. We're bringing them into 2026 — interactive, corrected, and built for the people who actually work on these cars."

What Makes Us Different

There are other wiring diagram sources out there. Most of them are scanned copies of the same factory originals — sometimes laminated, sometimes cleaned up, but still static paper diagrams you can't interact with.

Wiring Untangled is different. Our diagrams are fully hand-drawn from the factory originals, then built into interactive files with click-to-trace circuit highlighting, component identification, wire color coding, and — in our Premium tier — ISO-view component graphics, circuit info panels, and troubleshooting data.

Every diagram is hand-verified against the original factory source material. Where we've found known errors in the originals, we've corrected them and documented the changes.

Every diagram is manually redrawn from factory originals — not scanned, not auto-traced, not copied.

Built in Tennessee by Gearheads Who Code

Wiring Untangled is a small, independent crew of wrench-turners, wire-chasers, and code nerds based in Tennessee. Half the time we're under a dashboard with a test light; the other half we're behind a screen making sure every pixel on these diagrams is right.

We're not a corporation with a marketing department. We're the same people who own these cars, curse at these wiring harnesses, and refuse to accept that a 60-year-old photocopy is the best tool available in 2026.

Questions, feedback, or just want to talk about your project? We'd love to hear from you.
